The approaches that work
Kilimani and Hurlingham: Argwings Kodhek after the offices empty, then Ring Road. Ngong Road is the long way after 4 p.m. If you are still at a Kindaruma desk at seven, wait. The same drive at half past nine is a different city.
Riverside: Riverside Drive to Ring Road Kileleshwa. It is a short hop and it still fails when a driver follows the river too far. 44 Riverside is a landmark you are leaving, not our gate.
Lavington: James Gichuru onto Ring Road. Weekend brunch traffic and rain both ruin a midday plan. Overnight is the fast version. Lavington Green is the landmark drivers know. Use it, then switch to the pin.
Parklands: Parklands Road toward Westlands, then the Kileleshwa cut. Crossing Westlands at 5 p.m. is a bad idea. After 9 p.m. the same line is usually kind. City Park is a landmark, not a shortcut through Ngong Road.
The last five minutes
WhatsApp when you pass the landmark you actually recognise. We will describe the bay and the entrance. Maps apps drop the pin one gate off often enough that a local still gets it wrong after midnight.
Do not stop in the fastest lane. Do not argue with a guard while traffic stacks behind you. If the first entrance looks plausible and wrong, call 0108 744193 instead of trying three more.
Residents of Kileleshwa who are walking should say so. We will not hold a parking story for a neighbour. Residents who are driving from the far side of the estate should still ask which entrance is open. The road has more than one gate that looks right in the dark.
Parking
There is a bay on or just off Ring Road. It is not always the obvious one. Ask which is open that night, especially if you want less street view. Blocking the carriageway is not a parking plan.
A hold car should wait off the road. We text when you are about five minutes from dressed. Hotel drivers and Bolt drivers both understand a pin better than a treatment name. Give them the pin.
If rain has slowed Argwings Kodhek or James Gichuru, say so. A moved clock is a normal message on a 24-hour door. Arriving annoyed and rushed is a worse session, and we would rather not pretend otherwise.
What we will not do
The door is on Ring Road Kileleshwa. A taxi from further out is fine. Send the pin to the driver and call 0108 744193 if the last turn looks wrong.
Match the drive to the page for your estate: the Argwings Kodhek line from Kilimani, waiting out the Westlands lights, or skipping Ngong Road from Hurlingham. Then book the hour, not the junction.
Save the pin once it has worked, then still call on the next visit if you are coming from a new direction. A Kilimani approach and a Parklands approach do not share a last turn. The building does not move. The mistake people make is treating every arrival as the same road.
